Solid Research!
Goal: Provide resources/research you can trust!
Research is tough to interpret even when you know how to read it and what things mean. I want to give you the full article, but more importantly, the BLUF (see below). These are some of the same resources that I pull my knowedge from and use to stay up on the newest information.
BLUF: Bottom Line Up Front
I'm going to put the main point of the topic up front so you can decide if it is something you want to delve into. Feel free to ask if there is research you want me to put up here.
BLUF: Patients that trained using the pain scale and keeping the less than 5/10 progressed at the same rate as those that used active rest. Click to read the study!
BLUF: The present results show that handgrip strength is a useful indicator for general health status and specifically for early all-cause and cardiovascular mortality, as well as disability. Click to read the study!
BLUF: This prospective study is another step in support of using weight-bearing activity to help prevent and sometimes reverse joint deterioration. There was an improvement in knee health observed on comparison MRIs taken before and after training for a half marathon. Dosage seems to be the leading factor so please consult a professional before embarking on training. Click to read the study!
